Weasel sketches

Tracing paper sketches for my Studio Illustration 3 class is something with weasels as a group being called a sneak and gotta show them being sneaky... I don't really like I'm not really an animal person so I don't know animals that I don't really like. Thus when doing thumbnails in class all the weasels looked like teh stoopid versions of the weasels in Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (best movie ever) and teacher man was like use these compositions and get some reference.

So... volia I have. I need to work a bit more on number 1 but its hard since he said to work at a quarter size and there kinda small and close together that and I need to just draw some more weasles until the styleization comes out naturaly or I can do a half sized image of it and I'll have more room to work out the kinks.

Number 2 was a bit of an imprompt to thing... I was told after doing the thumb nails that weasels eat eggs of other animals. Stealing eggs that aren't yours... very sneaky so I did a fast doodle before class ended and was told to go abit farther with it and so here it is he's in a hollowed out tree trunk that you see in woods a lot just lying on the ground. No value so you can't really tell...

For number 3 I did have a friend in high skool who had a weasel as a pet I thought it was a ferret but yesterday she informed me that it was actually was a weasel. That and you know at toy store that have the "wobbling weasels" or whatever they're called that are attached to the balls yeah that's basicly theses guys trying to escape from their domestic fortress.

Yep still in the sketching working out phase so any critiques will be much apreciated! ^__^

So I don't usually do fan art type stuff because I'm not too good at mimicking others styles. I wanted to do a piece with aliens at stone henge 'cause its a widely known fact that Aliens are the ones who created stone henge. Magnezone which is the alien being used, is one of my favorite pokemon ever. Why? Because I can make bad star wars puns when I use them in battles or in card game form. "That's no pokemon that's a space station". Things like that work really well. I wanna retweak the grass 'cause it looks a bit organized... and grass isn't nessisarily chaotic but it's organic and not really organized.

Yes so here ya go photoshop cs3 and illustrator cs3

My Life

So I had to organize my music because iTunes is made of fail and so I got to listen to a lot of Everclear (because they are my favorite band and I legally have all the songs they've ever recorded in my music Library ) and listening to them all made me remember why I hearted them so much. It's becuase at lest there first three albums remind me a whole lot of my childhood and my teenagedom and so I plan on getting some of those songs that I can relate to the most and illustrate my own life with the song lyrics. This is my new task It's going to take some time since well I have other project that come before it and the fall semmester will be approaching soon though provided that they didn't split our Illustration class I will have Friday's off which is a good thing. And I'll be able to do things for this Everclear project.

So just a quick self portrait with a shark hat and sunglasses on done in crayon an a single watercolor wash.

The reason that I even did this is because I've been wanting to do a reportage illustration with people in crayon (kinda gestural but at the same time fairly tight so its legible) then a watercolor background that's super tight. I just wanted to make sure I could get the effect that I wanted out of the technique first. It's not exactly what I wanted but its close enough that I think that I'll be able to pull off what my mind intends me to do...

Works in Progress

Water color of my boyfriend and myself that I'm working on just for fun I accidentally used hot press water color paper instead of the cold press so its taking a lot longer than it should because I don't want it to look overworked.

Not really too far at all on this one but its just kids looking at ice cream at a place like maggy moos or coldstone one of those types of deals and its really fun to look at all the different expressions that kids make when checking out ice cream. It's either going to be done as a watercolor or a gauche painting I still haven't made up my mind but it will deffinately be on streched coldpress water color paper 'cuase I strech everything I do.

This is just a preliminary sketch for an ink drawing I'm going to be doing on Bristol which a bamboo quill thingy just a few class makes trying to figure out where we're going on the subway.

Just something silly I've been wanting to play with and its "Narwhals Inventors of the Shish Kabob" where you have a narwhal was a street vendo and a fish buying a shish kabob. Going to be done with prismacolor markers 'cause this is just something silly and I'm not afraid to take a risk. That and haven't work with markers as much as I was hoping to this summer.

Thats it for the works in progress leave any crits you want in the comments I'd appreciate it.
