So this was just my color drop for my last illustration studio class aesops fable related (fox and the crab)... I'm putting up the comp instead of the final because the final has more wrong with it than the comp because the art direction was for me to ignr somethings and I was like k and then in the final crit they were like why don't you have that there and I was like "k, i'll fix it" so what evs...I haven't updated anything on here in a while because I forgot about it <_<
I've realized a bit about my illustration so far in 2010. Mainly because I got my junior review back and it said to do more of the heavily inked drawings with watercolor on top and so I'm going to go back to that pretty much full time for my print stuff I think I am going to work in wet media a bit more but that's really going to happen over the summer for studdies and stuff I acctually have a lot of painting I wanna do over the summer between moving, work, and flash stuff for my internship.
I'm really excited about my art right now too! it's kinda odd and I haven't done anything that'll has blown my own mind but I'm feeling more comfortable with what I'm doing and the path I'm taking. I just need to do more storyboards... but I can do that a) while working on childrens book stuff. b) finding scripts on the internet and just drawing... I've sceen some really shitty professional storyboards so it makes me feel better about myself.
Last thing is that my electives for next year is cartooning and humorous illustration with Charlie Beyl mainly because I do really enjoy his cartoons and he's really skilled with inks and has done a lot of really cool things in his professional life... and i would like to have a more traditional print class with him since all I've had him for is digital studio classes.
the other elective i'm taking is childrens book illustration. which I've already taken but I want to write and illustrate a more serious book on the revolutionary war. I'm going to need to take photo referance before the school year ends of people so I need to figure out exactly where I want people positioned and what I'm going to cover about the revolutionary war. I'm also going to get most of the work done over the summer so that my work load will be fairly light since I'm not positive how I want to work in the motion graphics studio. I'm hoping to take some sort of film lite class.
I don't know it's 2:30 I'm just saying words but I'm really content with myself and excited for my future in art.
