Huck Finn Drifting down the missippi on his crudely constructed raft. pen and ink on bristol. Finally just sat down and did something for the illustration weekly thingy that I've been telling myself that I would do for quite some time now. Also this is the first thing I've finished this summer.
Wonderful, makes me think of Edward Ardizzone.
ReplyDeleteYea, I'm mainly inspired by lithograph artist for my still standing stuff but unfortunately I have no idea how to do it myself and my college won't teach illustrators printing, so I just imitate the style with my pen.
ReplyDeleteI always wished someone had wrote the equivalent of a girl, Huck Finn, now that would have been an adventure! Great line work!
ReplyDeleteIt's so worth finishing things. You learn so much, and then have something to show for it.
ReplyDeleteYour college doesn't have printmaking classes. Pen and ink is a lot easier, but oh, prints are so wonderful.
I like this drawing a lot. It really captures the laziness of his drift.
